Health Foods for a Great Smile
Eating a healthy diet is one of the best ways to avoid cavities, and who likes to have their teeth worked on? I’m in league with the Cowardly Lion when it comes time to go to the dentist!
To keep those dreaded visits to a minimum, here are some good health food choices to help prevent cavities:
Cranberries reduce the bacteria that attaches to teeth and causes cavities. Blueberries do the same thing to a lesser extent. Apples contain compounds that reduce decay. (Bet you never thought the saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” also included dentists!)
Drinking tea helps because both green and black teas contain natural fluoride that reduces the growth of bacteria on your teeth.
Cheese is good for your teeth because it contains calcium and helps prevent mineral loss of dental enamel.
Of course, these food are good for more than helping prevent cavities. They’re all around great health foods!
So have some of those berries or an apple and cheese, and sip on a tall glass of iced tea…
